Many families participate in the children's hand pressing events held at Distinctive Tile in Portland, Maine. Typically these events are scheduled once every few months. The process is as follows: either the foot or the hand is pressed into a wet six inch clay tile. These tiles are then dried and fired at over 2100 degrees.
